Creator Bio
I’m just an average guy but I guess there are a few things I could mention. I’m a Jack of All Trades: master citizen planner, woodsman, gardener, former market master for the LeRoy farmer’s market, former chair and clerk for the LeRoy planning commission, former owner Cool X-C, builder, property manager, author, and now a TTRPG creator.
My wife and I live and work close to the land in northern Michigan on our family’s centennial farm. Everyone for miles around here knows us as the folks in the round house. All my grandkids love their grandpa and that’s the best thing about me, if you ask me.
As far as music goes, my tastes are, complicated ... Mythmaker was written to King Crimson, Yes, Air, Goldfrapp, Rodriguez, Agnes Obel, Bo Hansson, Renaissance, Black Sabbath, Camel, Alan Parsons, Still Corners, Iron Maiden, ELP, ELO, Doro, Sia, Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, Porcupine Tree, Madredeus, Jethro Tull, the Chromatics, early Genesis, Wobbler, Rush, Kate Bush, and Dream Theater, . . . a list that’s sure to get a nod here and a shrug there.
When it comes to politics, I’m an independent at heart. I only mention it to bring up the point that this is the only time I will ever mention it. I think the only place politics should have in roleplaying games, and Mythmaker in particular, is when the characters get involved in some web of deception that leads them into a conspiracy so Earth shattering that today’s political issues pale in comparison.
I like a good Michigan winter. I get excited about shoveling snow and bringing in firewood. One of my favorite memories is of a day years ago when a few D&D buddies and I went out in January, “to become one with the cold,” like we were characters living our own little adventure. We stripped down to our boots and skivvies and ran a mile through the woods. It was great! We couldn’t get any girls to join us of course, because we played Dungeons and Dragons, but hey, I haven’t been cold since.
I like long walks, canoeing, and fishing. I read about an hour a day, mostly mythology, fantasy, ghost stories, and horror. I like going down rabbit holes and going into way too much detail, so with that in mind, I should end this.
One more thing. Mythmaker is not about me, or what I like, or how I vote, or what I read. Its about you. You are the Mythmaker.
